Bangalore, India, November 23,2010: ConJoin wins NASSCOM 2010 Corporate Award for Gender Inclusivity as the Best Emerging Company with 1-5 years in existence. The NASSCOM awards honor companies in the IT-ITES industry which have implemented outstanding practices that promote gender empowerment and women leadership development.
The jury for the award were Mr. N R Narayana Murthy, Chairman of the Board and Chief Mentor, Infosys Technologies; Mr. Som Mittal, President, NASSCOM ; Ms. Hema Ravichandar, HR Advisor, Strategic; Ms. Vinita Bali, Managing Director, Britannia Industries and Dr Rekha Jain, Executive Chair of the Telecom Centre of Excellence and Professor, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmadabad. .
ConJoin is awarded by NASSCOM due to its belief in the value of diversity. Diversity is not a business case for ConJoin but it is one of the foundation values. It emphasizes respect for individual and clearly state “No discrimination shall be done on the basis of caste, religion, sex, nationality or disability of any kind towards any employees, customers, suppliers, or any business partner.” The belief is not only documented as policy but practiced honestly. Since Diversity is a value, it reflects in anything or everything ConJoin does.

ConJoin believes in sustainable development and provides a safe and healthy work environment. Various groups have been formed to empower employees to participate in building the work environment. All groups have mandatory women representation. Furthermore, ConJoin has institutionalized a large number of employee-friendly policies. One such policy is the Environment, Health and Safety Policy, which lays a significant emphasis on the health and safety of expectant mothers, viz. transport, safety, ergonomics and other health and safety issue.
ConJoin is consciously investing in development of women leadership and want women to rightfully earn the leadership position based on ConJoin’s performance management and promotion policy. Women@ConJoin is a forum for development of women employees. The forum organizes various events and focus group meetings and also discusses issues of women at work and gives inputs to the management for policy formation / improvement and future initiatives for inclusivity. Also, the senior most member of the Women@ConJoin forum participates in weekly leadership meetings.
